Expedition 2018

"FIRST STEP ABROAD"

In the year 2018, KTY conducted first solo foreign expedition to Mt. Kilimanjaro, Tanzania, Africa which is a dormant Volcano and world’s largest free standing mountain. Team had stepped into Kilimanjaro National Park through Machame Gate on 26th February, 2018 and reached summit camp on 1st March, 2018. The team had to postpone the summit push on the same night due to persistant heavy snowfall and thunderstorm. Next morning they decided to go for summit after getting a window with fare weather. They Started at 9:30am from summit camp and reached Stella point (The rim of the crater) at 2:30 pm at elevation of 5756m. Snowstorm reappeared enroute but the team finally managed to touch the highest point of Africa at 3:20 pm.

Mt. Elbrus (5642m / 18510ft) Expedition in 2019

"SECOND STEP TO RUSSIA"

Further, in 2019, we conducted Second Foreign Expedition to Mt. Elbrus (W), the highest and most prominent peak in Russia and Europe, situated in the western part of the Caucasus and is the highest peak of the Caucasus Mountains, which is a Dormant Volcano rises 5,642m (18,510ft.) above sea level, and is the highest stratovolcano in Eurasia. The mountains stand in Southern Russia, in the Russian Republic of Kabardino-Balkaria.

On 13th July, 2019, We set off in the Drizzle from Terskol to Azau village, where cable car station is located which will take us directly to the basecamp Garabashi (3,847m). On 13th July, 2019, We get ready with climbing gears and boarded on the snowcat at 4:00 hrs. which carried us to the base of Mt. Elbrus east peak . Snowfall was still there alongwith strong wind. Temperature was minus 40 degree Celsius and the windspeed almost 50 kmph.  We started to traverse the east peak. After hours of climb we reached to the saddle between east and west peak, then we start fixed roped climbing towards the west via the east slope of Mt. Elbrus west summit. However we touched the summit of Mt. Elbrus at 8:00 hrs.
